DMT breakthrough experiences are encounters with an autonomous hyperspace of entities, not just intense hallucinations.
The breakthrough is best understood as a powerful, short-duration alteration of consciousness produced by DMT. Research documents recurring phenomenological features, rapid onset, vivid geometric imagery, bodily sensations, and apparent encounters with social agents, without demonstrating that the perceived entities exist independently or that users access another dimension. The strongest evidence describes what people experience, not the ultimate reality of its contents.
A DMT breakthrough doesn't feel like a hallucination. It feels like a border crossing, with someone waiting on the other side.
It hits fast. The room dissolves into geometry, the body rings and hums, and then you are somewhere users call hyperspace, a place that feels more real than this one. Aliens, deities, insects, guides: the cast changes, the meeting doesn't. Some come back with what they swear is information. If the visit is brief and the effect lasts, the question is what was handed over.
