Are GPS spoofing attacks behind the recent $100M data-center cargo thefts?Source

Data-center cargo is being stolen through layered freight fraud; GPS spoofing is one reported tool, not the whole explanation.
A coordinated cargo-fraud wave is exploiting weak carrier verification and digital freight platforms. GPS spoofing appears as one concealment tactic in at least one major case, while other thefts used account takeovers, impersonation, double-brokering, and physical attacks. The overall loss figure is reported by industry sources, not yet tied to a single proven technical method.
Thieves took over $100 million in data-center cargo by stealing identities, not trucks. In 92% of hits, the paperwork lied.
Since June, a cargo-theft network has walked off with more than $100 million in data-center freight. The tools were digital: hacked broker accounts, fake listings, carrier identities bought outright, and in one case spoofed tracking coordinates. A carrier barely present in a region could still pass online checks. Computing-boom hardware moves through a system that trusts whoever has the login.
