Roswell fragments have seen preliminary tests, but no documented sample has reached a transparent APT program with secure provenance.

The obstacle is less a missing machine than a missing chain of custody. Reported samples have been privately held, incompletely documented, or tested with methods that left room for contamination, sampling error, and ordinary industrial explanations. APT would consume a tiny specimen, so laboratories would first need a well-provenanced sample and a clear question its data could answer.
