The Story
The V-shaped object over Schriever appeared through night vision, but the account cannot establish what the goggles were detecting.
Night-vision goggles can reveal low-light or infrared contrast that unaided eyes miss, but this account does not provide enough technical detail to identify the visual mechanism. The ordinary reading is an unusual observation filtered through specialized equipment, memory, and a dark environment, not a confirmed craft. The reporting silence is itself a practical safety problem.
- EvidenceThe sighting was reported retrospectively and lacks a contemporaneous incident report in the supplied material.
- SafetyFear of professional consequences can prevent military personnel from reporting observations that might deserve technical review.
- Labby says the object disappeared from view when he lowered the goggles and that he does not know what it was.
- Military UAP reporting has been treated as a national-security matter, with some Air Force records withheld from public release.
- Specialized military night-vision sensors can produce footage of objects that are not readily characterized from the available imagery alone.

Deeper Insight
At Schriever, three airmen saw what goggles revealed, then stayed silent. Fear hid the clue before anyone could investigate.
Three airmen watched a huge, silent V-shape over Schriever Air Force Base through night-vision goggles in 2008. Without them, it vanished. Labby says fear of losing their clearances kept them quiet, turning a strange observation into a missing record. The bigger danger is a system where secrecy erases the evidence needed to understand what guards the sky.
- What it could changeA safe reporting path could preserve sensor details and witness accounts before unusual sightings fade into memory.
- How it touches todayMilitary UAP reports still sit where security rules and the public's right to know collide.
- Our futureThe sky could keep producing mysteries while fear quietly removes the people who saw them.
- Labby’s account centers on a shared observation by three airmen that vanished when the night-vision goggles came off, without identifying the phenomenon.
- A National Defense University publication frames military UAP reporting as a joint-force and interagency coordination problem, making reporting pathways part of the investigation.
- Military witnesses have described triangular or other unusual objects with differing visibility, shapes, and apparent behavior, leaving open whether such reports describe one technology or several.

Through night-vision goggles, Logan Labby says he saw a large, silent V-shaped object over Schriever Air Force Base. When he lowered the goggles, he could no longer see it. In spring 2008, Logan was serving in Air Force Security Forces near Colorado Springs. He recalls that two fellow airmen also viewed the object through the goggles, yet none of them reported it that night. He says they feared wh
