The green comes from the star’s measured spectrum and atmospheric chemistry, not from colouring an image.
The ordinary reading is a spectral result, not a camera effect. Researchers modelled the star’s measured spectrum through human-visible colour response, then connected the resulting green chromaticity to sodium absorption in its exceptionally dense atmosphere. The colour is therefore a physical inference from the star’s light, while the published green appearance remains a calculated rendering rather than a resolved photograph.
A strange spectrum, sodium-rich debris and dense atmospheric physics converge on the same ghostly green result.
The deeper read is that the green signal survives because several independent clues point to the same mechanism: unusual atmospheric chemistry, planetary debris enriching the surface, and dense-atmosphere opacity that removes broad warm-colour wavelengths. That makes processing an incomplete explanation. Still, the sources establish a physically motivated colour model, not a direct visual observation from a telescope image.
