The anti-solar point makes SETI more focused, but the first observations found no matching signal.
The Allen Telescope Array campaign is a disciplined test of a specific prediction: an extraterrestrial transmitter might choose the anti-solar alignment because it is geometrically conspicuous to civilizations that can observe Earth’s transit. The first observations found no matching signal. The result is useful as a search baseline, not evidence that the alignment works.
The Allen Telescope Array found silence opposite the Sun. SETI is hunting for shared logic, not just alien noise.
For about 17 hours over three nights, the Allen Telescope Array, a radio telescope built for SETI, stared opposite the Sun and found no matching signal. The survey tests whether a Schelling point, an obvious choice two strangers might make independently, can bridge the silence between civilizations.
