Robert Plot’s field account and Nuremberg’s sky broadsheet sit in different records; resemblance alone cannot join them.
Plot’s 1686 work belongs to the early history of explanations for unusual field markings, whereas the Nuremberg broadsheet records a densely composed sky scene involving many forms. Their dates and broad visual strangeness invite comparison, but the sources do not show that Plot saw, copied, or described the same object or event.
Nuremberg saw shapes crowd the sky in 1561. An Oxford professor logged strange marks in English fields in 1686. Both left pictures.
In 1561, Hans Glaser's Nuremberg broadsheet showed the sky crowded with forms and a black spear, appearing in phases. In 1686, Robert Plot, an Oxford professor, wrote up unusual markings in English fields, now an early chapter in crop-circle history. Above and below, a century apart, each witness reached for the symbols of their age. Maybe they were drawing the same kind of visitor.

Just saw this in a video that referenced Robert Plot an Oxford University professor in 1686 that wrote a paper about crop circles. 3:09 in the video. Looks like the same UAP from Nuremberg 1561 over a century earlier. https://youtu.be/x2BQyZorSQc?si=QxMrhPQELs7NH0gO Top comments: - Cleaned link: https://youtu.be/x2BQyZorSQc --- *Tracking parameters were removed from the original URL(s).* - the wei
