An F-16 fired twice at an octagonal object over Lake Huron, and Canadian teams later recovered a weather-monitoring module from the shoreline. That should close the case. • What it could changeA fuller record could reshape how military shoot-downs and unexplained objects are reported to the public.
• How it touches todayAnonymous threads now preserve fragments of incidents that official accounts leave partly sealed.
