AI could reshape the economy quickly, but collapse is a scenario to manage, not a four-year fact.
Pal’s four-year deadline is not supported here as a forecast with established predictive power. The institutional reading is more conditional: AI may raise productivity, but rapid adoption can amplify downturns, weaken wages and demand, or concentrate gains. The outcome depends on deployment, adjustment, financial conditions, and policy rather than technology alone.
Pal's four-year clock is the sideshow. The real risk is machines making wealth while everyone else loses the power to verify or share it.
Raoul Pal gives the future a deadline: about four years until AI, robotics, energy and crypto trigger his “Economic Singularity.” The date is disputed, but the fault line is real. Fast automation could cut wages, concentrate income and outrun our ability to check machine-made decisions. That is a bad bargain when a machine-made paycheck, price or verdict can no longer be trusted.
